Melissa King: Miss Delaware Teen USA Resigns Over Alleged Porn Video
Melissa King, Miss Delaware Teen USA, has submitted her resignation after an alleged X-rated video surfaced.
Pageant officials announced that Melissa King, 18, relinquished her crown this morning according to Delaware Online and that Hailey Lawler, the runner-up in the Miss Delaware Teen USA competition, will likely take over.
In disclosing the end of Melissa King’s reign, the Daily Mail reported that “A spokesperson for the Miss Teen USA pageant released a statement saying: ‘I would like to confirm the Miss Delaware Teen USA pageant has received a resignation letter from Miss King’s attorney.’ ”
Melissa King won the title of Miss Delaware Teen USA 2013 on November 25; she has categorically denied, however, that it is her in the online sex video which was purportedly shot in the June 2012 time frame, three months after she turned 18. “Absolutely not,” Melissa King told Delaware Online. “It is not [me],” she insisted.
Gawker claims that it received an anonymous tip this morning that a video on a porn website starred the now-dethroned Melissa King, and if it is her, she was the reigning Miss Teen Delaware International 2012 at the time.
TMZ, which has unearthed a clip of the purported video, reports that “King reportedly denies it’s her in the hardcore sex footage — but the girl in the video looks and sounds EXACTLY like King.”
The Miss Delaware Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Delaware in the Miss Teen USA pageant. This pageant is run by the Miss Universe organization.
