‘Army Of Two: The Devil’s Cartel’ Releases New ‘Overkill’ Trailer [Video]

The latest Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel trailer shows off the game’s overkill feature.

The clip embedded below shows off some of the insane action fans of the video game franchise can anticipate from the latest installment. Judging from the latest trailer, players can expect to leave a mountain of virtual bodies in their wake.

The sequence unfolds not unlike something you might find in a Hong Kong action flick. Powered by what appears to be an endless supply of ammunition, the character quickly plows through a bunker filled with bad guys. Thanks to the Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel overkill feature, it doesn’t take very long for a lot of dead bad guys to hit the floor.

The folks at Electronic Arts describe the experience as follows:

“You and your partner must shoot and destroy anything in your path to take down a violent drug cartel that’s taken over Mexico. In gripping partner-based missions, each player must tackle and overcome individual objectives to achieve a common goal. The more effective your teamwork, the greater the reward as the new Overkill mode gives you devastating power for truly epic mass destruction!”

According to VG 24/7, Army of Two producer Greg Rizzer said he wanted to make the best “best co-op campaign” money can currently buy.

He explained:

“We always kind of felt like we want to focus on delivering the best co-op campaign on the market. That’s something we were known for with the first one. It’s back now, and we feel pretty good about that. The fact of the matter is that with competitive multiplayer, there’s plenty of games where that’s their focus, and they they do it extremely well. We don’t feel any need to compete with that.”

The overkill trailer has been embedded below.

Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel will arrive for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 28.
