Adam Levine Won’t Be Leaving Maroon 5 To Go Solo [Video]

With recent forays into television and film, Adam Levine is slowly breaking away from Maroon 5, leaving many to wonder if he’ll eventually drop the group entirely. But Levine insists that he has no intention of abandoning his bandmates.

ET Canada‘s Natasha Gargiulo asked Levine if he would ever consider going solo, to which the frontman replied, “If anything I’ll probably make a record on my own with people doing some sort of interesting cover record or something like that, but it won’t be me going solo.”

Levine added, “It’ll be me doing something on my own and then returning to the band.”

So far, Levine’s solo efforts have been limited to collaborations with other artists, such as The Voice season 1 winner Javier Colon, Alicia Keys, and Kanye West. But with appearances on American Horror Story and a role in the upcoming film Can A Song Save Your Life?, Levine is yet another artist to be bitten by the acting bug. He did admit, however, that he was initially nervous about the role.

“No one’s going to say that guy sucks in that movie,” he said. “I’m really hard on myself so I knew that I would feel that gross feeling of like, ‘Oh dude I’m never doing this again, I’m so bad.’ And I wasn’t. I didn’t get that feeling.”

Levine also recently dished on his new women’s clothing line for Kmart, 222 by Adam Levine, which launches this fall. Levine told E! News, “It’s like me but with breasts and a vagina.”

The 33-year-old added, “There’s so much sexy out there. My line will figure out a way to represent my convoluted and confusing opinion on what is sexy.”
