It really is the Brett Favre show after all

Brad Childress is the Head Coach of the Minnesota Vikings right? What he says goes right? Of course when your Brett Favre’s ego, you do whatever you want, regardless of what is good for your team. When you Brett Favre you can delude yourself into thinking that your still in your prime when your 40, and when your Brett Favre you can retire every spring and hold the NFL world hostage as you figure out what you want to do, because the morons that run ESPN aren’t smart enough to figure out that this is all about Brett Favre and his massive ego.

Why is a 40 year old QB still playing in a game that doesn’t matter a whole lot, and he was getting beaten up. His head coach was trying to save him from all of that abuse. Hey Brett, no one person is more important than the team, not even you, you deluded ego maniac. There is no point at risking the team’s year because you don’t want to sit down. The game against the Carolina Panthers was out of control, you were being pummeled by Julius Peppers, and therefore Childress was simply trying to protect his asset. Without Favre this team isn’t as good, and if he gets hurt heading into the playoffs a very good season will be for not as the Viking could lose in the early rounds.

Worse than Favre not wanting to come out of the Carolina games, this apparently is the third time that Childress has tired to sit him. All three times Favre has refused, that is not good at all. Why Favre need to continue to play in a game against the Detroit Lions is beyond me, why he thinks he is bigger than his head coach is not. His ESPN fueled massive ego has made Brett think he is larger than the game itself.

The real blame for this mess lies with Childress and the Minnesota front office. They wanted Brett, they got him. All of the rest is what happens when you bring a guy like Favre in. Sure Childress wanted to take him out because he was getting beaten up, Childress should have know that he cannot take out the great Bret Favre, it is not his job to tell the great Brett Favre what to do, and this is the last bit of rust falling of the legacy of Brett Favre.
