Carrie Underwood engaged

Singer Carrie Underwood is engaged to hockey player Mike Fisher, a rep for the singer has confirmed.

Fisher, 29, plays for the Ottawa Senators, and a rep for Underwood, 26, confirmed the engagement to press:

“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier,” her rep confirmed. “No wedding date has been set at this time.”

News of the engagement broke on Twitter, when a friend of Underwood’s congratulated the pair on their impending nuptials. Underwood and Fisher have been dating for about a year, and while they’ve been quiet about the relationship, Underwood did give her fiance a shout out on the liner notes of her last album:

“Thank you #12,” she wrote, referring to Fisher’s jersey number. “You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day… xoxo, Carrie.”
