Happy Endings Will Be Sent To Fridays

Happy Endings, the critically acclaimed comedy, will be moved to Friday nights at 8 pm. ABC is cleaning up house and realigning its mid-season schedule, but they aren’t being very kind to the viewer favored show Happy Endings. Maybe Happy Endings didn’t perform as well as they thought it would.

Happy Endings originally premiered on April 13, 2011 and follows the peculiar adventures of six best friends living in Chicago.

According to tv.com, starting March 29, Happy Endings will be moved to its new schedule, where it will air back-to-back episodes. This doesn’t seem to be a big surprise for most regular viewers who are used to searching for the program. Over the course of the show’s last three seasons, it’s been shifted around the network’s schedule multiple times, airing the ABC program on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and now Friday.

Eliza Coupe, Happy Endings star, recently told ETOnline:

“It’s a running joke on set when we film something we all think is incredible that someone goes, ‘Oh man, that was so good — it’s too bad no one will ever see it.’ … Do we wish there was more publicity? Yeah. But it’s undeniable we’re making a great show. I just wish we had more of a push, and I really hope we get a fourth season — but that’s not up to me.”

So what’s forcing ABC to move the show once again? Apparently, the riveting programming of none other than Celebrity Wife Swap. Viewers can expect to find the celebrity spouses show on Tuesday nights at 8 pm. starting February 26, which will push back The Taste by an hour replacing Happy Endings‘ most recent spot. As previously announced, Dancing With the Stars is scheduled to air at 9 pm. beginning on March 26.

Not only is Happy Endings being pushed to Friday, it’s also taking a month-long break to accommodate the rest of the seasons of Last Man Standing and Malibu Country on the ABC Network. Looks like it might take a small act of god for this show to stay on the network for another season. Fingers crossed.

Happy Endings is currently aired on Tuesdays at 9 pm EST on the ABC Network.
