Grammy Dress Code To Be Stricly Enforced To Prevent ‘Wardrobe Malfunctions’

A Grammy dress code will be strictly enforced at this year’s music awards as the production team behind the awards hopes to avoid any embarrassing and costly wardrobe malfunctions.

Producers are adhering to the Grammy Awards dress code with militant fervor, E! News reported, as they are afraid of a Janet Jackson-level malfunction that could bring the FCC down on them.

The Grammy dress code is normally kept behind the scenes, but Deadline managed to obtain the memo to attendees asking them to adhere to network policy against racy outfits. Off limits are butt cracks, thongs, underboobs, side boobs, sheer frocks, nipples, andoverly demonstrative groin areas, E! News notes

The memo read:

“Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered. Thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare fleshy under curves of the buttocks and buttock crack. Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples. Please be sure the genital region is adequately covered so that there is no visible ‘puffy’ bare skin exposure.”

The Grammy dress code isn’t just about keeping the event family friendly. Organizers warned attendees against using their outfits to promote products or promote personal causes with lapel pins and other similar accessories. Outfits with foreign words or expletives are out of bounds as well.

The memo didn’t say what the punishment was for defying the Grammy dress code, but by the tone of the letter it sounds like maybe after-school detention.
