A Kelly Clarkson mushroom binge might be what you will be hearing about from your friends, but it might not be quite what you expect. Yes, Kelly Clarkson ate mushrooms to help her performance, and, no, it wasn’t the illegal kind that you would expect.
Clarkson went out with her friends the night before to Buca di Beppo and stuffed her face with mushrooms — well, stuffed mushroom that is. Not only that, but she also ate spaghetti, a half-pound meatball, and other amazing Italian entrees (like bruschetta, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana) offered by Buca di Beppo at Washington, D.C., and it wasn’t cheap. The total bill was for $230, but we are sure that Kelly Clarkson doesn’t mind paying that bill considering how she performed.
Her performance of “My Country Tis Of Thee” was so spectacular at the Second Inauguration of Barack Obama that it grabbed much of the headlines, though, considering her secret was stuffed mushrooms, that might grab even more of the headlines. It could also be that she was inspired by the opera spirits that could have resided in the Italian restaurant, but we are going to trust the fact she has amazing talent more.
It is pretty refreshing seeing that Kelly Clarkson, despite the mushroom story, is still a well-respected artist because of her talents, unlike Beyonce whom is accused of performing to a pre-recorded audio of her performance at the inauguration. Maybe Beyonce should take a page out of Kelly Clarkson’s book and stuff herself with Italian food prior to a major performance.
If you missed out on her performance at the Inauguration, here it is below:
