‘Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon’ Will Feature Local Multiplayer

The upcoming Nintendo 3DS title Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will reportedly include a new local multiplayer mode.

Although Nintendo has yet to issue an official statement on the matter, the forthcoming title’s official website includes the news in its description. According to Polygon, the game is slated to arrive in the US later this year. UK gamers will get their hands on the title in just a couple of months.

The description on the Nintendo website reads:

“Join Luigi as he stumbles and bumbles through haunted mansions, solving mind-melting puzzles and vacuuming up ghosts left and right with the help of Professor E. Gadd and an array of gadgets.

“Each mansion is filled with unique puzzles, a wide range of different ghosts, and a menacing boss battle. You’ll need to use your head and the Poltergust 5000, a ghost-catching vacuum cleaner, to clean up the mansions and save the day.

“With so many new places to explore, all new ways to capture ghosts, and a brand new local multiplayer mode, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is another star turn for Mario’s heroic brother—and it’s only on Nintendo 3DS.”

According to IGN, Nintendo has yet to announce the different multiplayer options gamers will have at their disposal when the game hits shelves. The website also promises to have more information about the Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon in the coming days.

Luigi’s Mansion debuted on the Nintendo Gamecube nearly 12 years ago. Players take the role of Mario’s brother as he attempts to wrangle ghosts inside a haunted mansion. Although the game remains quite popular with players, snagging a new copy of the title can be a costly affair. Amazon currently lists the original game for $89.95.
