Piers Morgan On Alex Jones Explosive Interview

Piers Morgan shared his thoughts on the rather explosive recent interview with Alex Jones. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Jones ran into some trouble with a TSA agent who wanted to inspect the radio show host’s shoes. Alex Jones was instrumental in the “Deport Piers Morgan” petition created on the White House website.

Morgan, a CNN host, engaged in a telephone interview with Politico to discuss the confrontation with Jones. During the phone interview Piers Morgan stated that Alex Jones is the “best advertisement” for gun control that a person could wish for. The CNN host also had this to say about the gun rights vs. gun control argument with Jones:

“That kind of vitriol, hatred, and zealotry is really quite scary. I didn’t feel threatened by him, but I’m concerned that someone like him has that level of influence. There’s got to be a level of discourse that can rise above what happened last night. It was undignified, unedifying. Sometimes it’s better to let somebody have the rope they need to tie themselves in knots.”

Piers Morgan also claimed that Alex Jones continued “ranting” through the commercial break of the two-segment CNN interview. Morgan noted that he knew what the show would be “getting into” when they invited Alex Jones on set and called the radio host a “shock jock.”

Morgan believes Jones works off fear and has spurred increased guns and ammo sales via the conversations on his radio show. According to Jones’ comments during the Piers Morgan interview, the show now airs on 140 networks. The Alex Jones Show is based out of Austin, Texas. Jones is also the creator of the PrisonPlanet and InfoWars websites.
