Duggar Family News: Texas Church Shooting Reveals Fans’ Stance On Gun Control, Jinger Duggar Takes Priority

Texas church shooting news shook the nation this morning as people realized that a gunman with a semiautomatic rifle robbed people of their lives. But it looks like the birthdays and Jinger Duggar’s wedding anniversary celebrations took priority for the Duggars. Only two days after the tragedy, the family responded to this national event.

After congratulation Jessa Duggar turning 25, her son Spurgeon turning 2 and Jinger Duggar for being married to Jeremy Vuolo for one year, the Duggar family finally made a post about the Texas church shooting.

“We are still shocked by the tragedy in the Texas church shooting,” they wrote. “Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of those who lost their lives, the injured and all the sweet people of Sutherland Springs Baptist Church. It is during times like this that we need to draw close to God for comfort and strength. We will continue to pray for this community and pray for our country.”

This Facebook post quickly revealed that their fans, despite the fact that two deadliest mass shootings in the modern US history happened in 2017, were against gun control. When one follower wrote, “Praying for gun control so that way this can stop happening,” a slew of anti-gun control fans immediately lashed back.

“You might want to pray for people’s hearts more than gun control,” a fan commented. “You take away guns they will make bombs.”

“We already have gun control,” another chimed in. “The Air Force didn’t file his paperwork, so the blood is on their hands.”

“I wish people would stop saying guns are the problem,” a third fan wrote. “It’s a people problem, not a gun problem. Gun control doesn’t stop a person from killing.”

Others concentrated on how the family should encourage Jinger Duggar, who moved to Texas with her husband after her wedding, to come back to Arkansas.

“I would be begging Jeremy to move home to Arkansas with my Jinger if it were me! But that’s just me,” she wrote. “They’re the first ones I thought of when I heard about the shooting.”

Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, opened fire during the First Baptist Church’s Sunday morning service, killing 26 people and injuring 20, according to CNN. The age of the victims ranged from 5 to 75.

“We know that he expressed anger towards his mother-in-law, who attends this church,” said Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety.

On the day of the tragedy, they kept their post limited to Jinger Duggar’s first wedding anniversary and Spurgeon’s birthday.

“November is such a special month and the 5th is a very special day,” they wrote. “Happy birthday to our precious grandson, Spurgeon and happy anniversary to Jeremy and Jinger!!”

It looks like Jinger Duggar will always have to associate the second deadliest mass shooting with her wedding anniversary.

The Duggars encourage their kids to become more familiar with guns so it is not surprising that their fans also share the sentiment.

Her husband, Jeremy Vuolo, prioritized tweeting about the tragedy over his wife.

Derick Dillard, the husband of Jill Duggar, also tweeted about the Texas church shooting but chose to remain vague on the issue of gun control.
