It’s that time of year, when the annual celebrity weight loss winners are publicized. In 2017, Beyonce joined Kim Kardashian in flaunting her weight loss success. And while Beyonce once was known for using the Master Cleanse weight loss plan (also known as the Lemonade Diet), the songstress turned to Kim’s ketogenic high fat, low carb diet to shed 30 pounds in three weeks. She also opted for the same fitness plan that Kanye West reportedly is using to follow Kardashian’s alleged orders to shed the weight that he recently gained.
Beyonce Joins Melissa McCarthy, Kim Kardashian On Ketogenic Weight Loss Diet
As the Inquisitr reported, Melissa McCarthy and Kim Kardashian both are known for achieving a combined 145-pound weight loss with the ketogenic diet. And in contrast to the Master Cleanse diet that Beyonce previously used to slim down fast, the songstress also opted for the popular keto diet, according to New Idea.
“Beyonce turned to the keto diet, the hottest new weight-loss phenomenon sweeping Hollywood.”
In addition to Melissa McCarthy and Kim Kardashian, Gwyneth Paltrow reportedly is using the ketogenic diet to slim down. The low-carb, high-fat food plan transforms the body into a “fat-burning machine,” reported the publication.
Ketogenic Weight Loss Diet Turns Into Celebrity Trend
One Hollywood trainer told New Idea that the popularity of the ketogenic diet is comparable to the ever-fashionable little black dress. And Beyonce’s success with the weight loss plan has caused her to turn into the new poster girl for the diet, said the trainer.
“Keto is the new black. Everyone is doing it, and no one [is] better than Beyonce!”
The celebrity trainer commented that the songstress has been stunning observers on the red carpet. In addition to working to help Beyonce lose weight fast, the ketogenic diet reportedly has helped her and dieters such as Melissa McCarthy and Kim Kardashian to look and feel their best.
Beyonce Reveals Past Struggle With Diets
Beyonce has shared her previous struggles with diet. She admitted in an interview that she is not naturally thin, and that her shape has made it more challenging for her to shed pounds.
“I have curves. I have struggled with diets and finding something that works for me.”
But after starting on the ketogenic diet, Beyonce “found it really easy,” an insider told New Idea. The source said that the songstress experienced “no starving, just amazing weight loss.”
After welcoming her twins in June, Beyonce took time to heal. She then began the ketogenic diet, enjoying the fast results, according to the insider. Now, after having shed her post-pregnancy pounds, the songstress is feeling “stronger and healthier than ever,” added the source.
Beyonce Recalls Lettuce Diet And Treadmill Torture Before Keto
After the birth of her first child, Beyonce scheduled a show that gave her just three months to lose weight. She recalled her misery at having to lose 60 pounds as soon as possible.
“I had to lose 60 pounds. They had me on that treadmill. I ate lettuce.”
Following that unpleasant weight loss experience, Beyonce chose the keto diet for her second post-pregnancy diet. Leslie Bonci, a registered dietitian, explained that the ketogenic diet is “very high fat,” with 75 to 80 percent of calories consisting of foods such as avocado, bacon, and coconut oil. The low-carb keto diet allows for moderate protein while eliminating sugar and starchy food such as bread, pasta, rice, and cereal.
By following the ketogenic diet, the songstress lost 30 pounds in three weeks, an insider told Hollywood Life. She also exercised.
“Beyonce is working out again and eating well,” said the source. “She has begun work with a personal trainer again to shed her leftover baby weight.”
Beyonce Uses Same Fitness Plan As Kanye West
Like Beyonce, Kanye West recently faced the challenge of losing weight. The Daily Mail reported that Kim Kardashian ordered her husband to go on a “daddy diet” before their third baby arrived.
Kim also reportedly told Kanye to start a fitness plan, which he obeyed by taking SoulCycle classes and working out with a trainer several times a week. West even signed up for a membership.
Celebrity Insider reported that Beyonce is following the same fitness plan, combining SoulCycle classes with working out with a trainer. The songstress has continued to take SoulCycle classes while doing cardio and weights at home with her trainer.
The publication offered a different version of Beyonce’s high fat, low carb diet, citing a source who claimed that the songstress is following “a special olive and avocado-focused diet designed by a nutritionist, with the olives serving as a healthy source of fat and the avocado being a master food for weight and strength.”
