Trump Dumps Fish Food Into Pond In Japan And Laughs, Koi Carp Lovers Warn Against Overfeeding Fish [Video]

President Donald Trump had fun with the cameras by giving photographers and videographers a shot of him dumping fish food into a carp koi pond in Japan. As seen in the below video, President Trump initially shook food for the carp fish into a koi pond in a similar manner that Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe used, by spooning out portions of fish food to dole out to the fish. The duo fed the fish prior to their working lunch at Akasaka Palace in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, November 6.

According to the Independent, Trump turned over his box of fish food during the ritual, which was created to serve as a welcome to those guests visiting the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo. The pricey koi fish became a source of worry for carp fans who viewed the photo of Trump dumping his whole box of fish food into the pond. However, in viewing the video of the event, it is noteworthy to realize that Mr. Abe and President Trump ended up feeding the fish similar amounts of food.

That didn’t stop fish lovers from worrying about the koi carp — which are fish that can suffer if they eat too much food at one time. Comments about Trump murdering “beloved koi” fish are being published online, with fish lovers telling Trump that the fish can suffocate on the extra food.

Quips about everything thing Trump touches dying are being published on social media, along with angry comments about how Trump had damaged the act of symbolism with Abe. However, it’s not clear if those commentators had viewed the video of Trump feeding the koi carp, instead of simply viewing one photo of Trump dumping fish food into the pond.

Comments calling Trump disrespectful during the Koi fish ceremony, which purportedly dates as far back as the era of Buddha, are being published online. The ritual is viewed by some believers as a source of good luck. Therefore, with Trump rushing the fish-feeding, Trump’s luck may have run out, according to some viewers.

Trump’s next stop after Japan will include stops in Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
