Mel B Infuriates Judge For Not Showing Up In Deposition: ‘AGT’ Judge May Be Jailed Over Court Trial Delays

Mel B of the Spice Girls may be jailed over the court hearing delays that she has been causing. The trial for her domestic violence case against ex-husband Stephen Belafonte was moved to another date, as she was said to be currently filming an ad in Australia.

Although Mel B returned to L.A. after hearing about the jail threat, the scheduled trial for Nov. 6 will not push through anymore. The infuriated judge, Marcus Juhas, strongly declared that there would be “no more delays” in the case and this means that the singer will be in trouble if she failed to appear in court again.

It was learned that the America’s Got Talent judge was not able to attend a deposition. Mel B filed for restraining orders against Belafonte, as well as their former nanny, Lorraine Gilles. However, despite the fact that she is the complainant, she could be charged with contempt of court, as the case was often postponed because of her.

Stephen Belafonte’s lawyer, Philip Cohen, told the Los Angeles Supreme Court that Mel B’s case should be junked as the singer was disrespectful of the court for missing such a major legal interview, Daily Mail reported.

In response, the singer’s new legal team was able to convince Judge Juhas to give their client one last chance since there have been some misunderstandings regarding the dates, as she changed her counsel at the last minute.

While the judge agreed to the plea and reset the start of the trial to Nov. 13, he warned that if she further delays the case, Mel B could go to prison for five days and be fined.

Moreover, it was mentioned that the judge was shocked when he learned that Mel B was in Australia for a commercial shoot, even if it was on her schedule to appear in court. Needless to say, Judge Juhas has had enough, since Mel B also bizarrely ran out of the first trial where she was interrogated about her married life.

Mel B and Stephen Belafonte are facing each other in court for their bitter divorce case. The star is also fighting her ex-nanny, as Lorraine Gilles filed a defamation suit after Mel labeled her as a homewrecker and a prostitute.
