‘Counting On’ Renewal Confirmation On Social Media Deleted, Show Still Hangs In Balance

Previously, the Inquisitr reported that Counting On had been confirmed to be renewed, thanks to Jinger Duggar Vuolo’s mother-in-law for spilling the beans on social media. Jeremy Vuolo’s mother, who runs a charity called Swan4Kids, recently stated that the organization would hold a November 15 gala. During the gala, Jinger and her husband would be in attendance, in addition to TLC cameras.

Eagle eyes fans who caught the video were ecstatic, stating that this meant that the show was definitely getting picked up for another season. However, upon closer inspection, it looks like the post by Diana Vuolo has since been deleted.

Instead, Diana has put up a new post, stating that Jinger Duggar Vuolo and Jeremy Vuolo, TLC reality TV show stars, will be at the gala. This time, she fails to mention TLC cameras.

It is difficult to tell if this means that the the cameras will no longer be there or not. It is possible Jinger Duggar Vuolo’s mother-in-law got confused by the sequence of events or was confused by their attendance at the gala. Or, it is also equally possible that although the family is aware the show is being renewed, they are not yet allowed to announce it to fans.

TLC has aired 50 episodes of Counting On since it premiered in 2015. The spin-off was a result of the cancellation of the original series, 19 Kids and Counting, which was pulled from the air when it was revealed that the eldest Duggar son, Josh, had molested five young women including four of his sisters.

Several media outlets have reported that the ratings for the show have been plummeting, and fans aren’t tuning in to watch the older Duggar children court, marry and have babies the way they used to. This is partially because many say they find it to be overwhelmingly repetitive, and would prefer to see other content about the family aside from the same situations over and over again.

The Duggar family will be the very first to let the world know when Counting On is officially confirmed. However, fans have been writing letters to TLC’s parent company, Discovery, to ensure the show continues.
