Ivanka Trump’s Popularity Is Soaring With Democrats, Crashing With Republicans: Could She Switch Parties?

Ivanka Trump is gaining ground with Democrats. The first daughter’s popularity is on the rise with Democrats while her reputation among Republicans is starting to wane. What are the chances that Ivanka switches parties?

Fortune reported that a poll issued by YouGov indicated that more Democrats like Ivanka than ever before. The poll questioned 4,800 people over the course of six months. Although Ivanka is gaining favor with Democrats, her family’s name is taking a major hit. That said, Ivanka’s company revealed that they witnessed a 21 percent growth last year and expect more of the same in 2017.

According to Business Insider, the majority of Americans hold a negative view of the Trump brand, which includes Ivanka’s eponymous company and Trump Hotels and Resorts. While Ivanka Trump’s company claimed an uptake in sales, her fashion line and Trump Hotels are currently sitting in the bottom 10 of a 1,600 brand sample.

Other companies in the same sample include energy drinks, cable companies, and dating websites. Democrats, meanwhile, aren’t the only ones boycotting the Trump family business.

Republicans are also struggling to support Trump’s businesses. In fact, Four Seasons and The Ritz-Carlton, two of Trump Hotels’ biggest rivals, were more popular among Republicans, despite Donald Trump leading the party.

Between the waning Republican support and the negative views coming from Democrats, there’s no telling how the Trump family business will handle the next three years.

As far as Ivanka is concerned, she has not commented on the shifting opinions among Democrats. Given how her father is the new leader of the Republican Party, it is unlikely that she will shift parties halfway through his presidency. That doesn’t mean she’ll never become a Democrat, especially considering how she is clearly relatable to both sides, but it probably won’t happen soon.

Part of the reason Democrats like Ivanka is because of her new book, Women Who Work. Released earlier this year, the book details how women can be successful in the workplace, from demanding higher salaries to balancing work with personal life. Ivanka also wrote about the struggles she faced as a working mom and dealing with postpartum depression.
