Joy-Anna Duggar Shotgun Wedding Rumors Persist, Even As She Reveals Why She Left Social Media
Joy-Anna Duggar has been dogged by rumors that she and husband Austin Forsyth had a shotgun wedding, and her social media absence these past few weeks has only added fuel to the fire. This week, as the Hollywood Gossip reports, Joy broke her social media silence — and did absolutely nothing to quell rumors that she got pregnant before her wedding.
Fans and haters alike of the Duggar family love poring over every pixel of every photo of anyone in the family that turns up on social media. In particular, when it comes to the Duggar women — that is, women born into the Duggar family and women who marry into it — fans love looking for “evidence” of pregnancy and how advanced that pregnancy may be.
As it turns out, some fans and haters, presumably very few obstetricians among them, have concluded that Joy-Anna’s abdomen is a bit more advanced than the math indicates it should be. Joy-Anna and Austin married in May, and in August, she announced that she was pregnant. However, the rumor is that her pregnancy is more advanced than she’s been letting on, giving rise to the idea that she was pregnant before her wedding date, and had a shotgun wedding.

Not helping matters is the fact that Joy’s been off social media for the past month, without giving any indication why. If you believe the conspiracy theory, it’s because she doesn’t want any more pictures of her abdomen turning up, perhaps confirming the advanced stage of her pregnancy.
Or, you know, she had other reasons that have nothing to do with salacious rumors about a shotgun wedding.
This week on the Duggar family blog, Joy-Anna explained why she’s been off social media for the past few weeks. Whether her explanation is believable is, of course, up to the reader, but here’s what she said.
“I’m sorry I haven’t really been that active. My life has become busy lately, but I shall try and post more often.”
So what’s she been busy with? According to an anonymous, insider source, she and Austin have been working on building a house together.
Seems legit, right? Well, Hollywood Gossip writer Tyler Johnson isn’t buying it.
“[Building a house] sounds like the sort of thing that would inspire a slew of Instagram posts from most 20-year-olds.”
