The Weeknd may have been the one to call it quits on his relationship with Selena Gomez, but that doesn’t mean he’s not heartbroken by the breakup.

Multiple reports claim that The Weeknd has been trying to cope with the recent split, which supposedly only came about after the singer started to notice that Justin Bieber was becoming a priority in his ex-girlfriend’s life again.

The Weeknd knows the history Justin and Gomez share between one another, so when the frequent dinner dates were happening, it was a clear sign that there was more than just a casual conversation going on between the two.

Initially, it was said that The Weeknd was totally cool about the duo being friends again, but it actually turns out that the “Can’t Feel My Face” singer felt quite the opposite about the reunion between both exes.

Following his decision to dump Selena, The Weeknd has reportedly been struggling to accept the fact that they have officially broken up while Gomez continues to get closer to Bieber.

Sources tell Hollywood Life that the 27-year-old doesn’t want to seem heartbroken in public, so instead, he’s been flirting with plenty of women at nightclubs in public to send a message to Selena that he’s doing just fine without her.

Reportedly, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

An insider says that The Weeknd is totally devastated and shattered by the split, but he feels he has to put a guard up so he doesn’t appear to be anything less than the masculine macho he wants to be portrayed as.

Having already felt like he was losing his girlfriend to Bieber, it only made sense that he would end the relationship now than to do it later.

It’s unclear whether Selena and The Weeknd ended their relationship on good terms, but considering the supposed fact that the hitmaker was unhappy she’d been spending a lot of time with Justin, it would seem that they likely won’t remain friends.

It was just weeks ago when Gomez praised her ex-boyfriend for helping her get through her lupus struggle. He also helped the singer following her kidney transplant surgery, where The Weeknd was said to have gone above and beyond to support Selena.
