‘RHONJ’ Star Teresa Giudice Not Taking Joe’s Allegedly Verbally Abusive Calls From Prison

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice is no longer taking her husband Joe’s “verbally abusive” phone calls from prison.

An anonymous, insider source close to the couple tells InTouchWeekly that the hotheaded Joe has been abusing Teresa over the phone, and she’s had enough of it.

“Joe has been more and more verbally abusive to Teresa over the phone. He’s been angrily calling Teresa at home, but she’s been dodging his calls.”

At this point, it bears noting that information provided by anonymous, insider sources isn’t always 100 percent accurate, and there’s no confirmation of Joe’s supposed verbal abuse towards Teresa outside of what InTouchWeekly‘s source said.

If Joe Giudice is rather cranky, he has a good reason. Well, there’s no good reason for being verbally abuse to your wife, but Joe is certainly not having a good time in prison. He’s currently serving 41 months for bankruptcy fraud at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, New Jersey, according to People. And while prison isn’t easy for anyone – even a minimum-security prison like Fort Dix – it seems that Joe is having a particularly rough time of it. He’s lost 45 pounds due to what a People report called “the Prison Diet” – that is, eating less due to the absolutely atrocious food.

Once he gets out of prison, according to Page Six, he’s looking at being deported back to Italy. What’s more, Immigration has put what’s known as a “detainer” on him, which has limited his access to prison services, such as alcohol treatment.

He can’t even appear before an immigration judge to fight his deportation as the prison where he’s incarcerated doesn’t allow inmates to appear before immigration judges.

It seems that Joe feels the only outlet he has for his complaints is Teresa, and she is fed up with it.

“She has said, ‘Enough is enough. I don’t need to put up with this.’ He’s making her feel awful. All Joe ever does is bring Teresa down and complain about how miserable he is in prison.”

What’s more, Teresa feels like she can’t give back to Joe what he’s been giving her, for fear that he’d stop taking her calls.

“If she had lost her s**t on Joe at any point while she was in prison, she knew there would be a risk that he would go off the rails and stop taking her calls. So she had to remain positive and upbeat the entire time.”

Teresa Giudice is no stranger to prison herself. She also served a 14-month sentence for the same series of crimes that landed Joe behind bars. Thanks to a judge not wanting to tear apart the Giudice family, the couple’s sentences were amended and staggered so that there would always be a parent at home with their four daughters.
