‘NCIS’ Season 15 Star Pauley Perrette Reveals ‘Abusive’ Working Environment; Mark Harmon Getting A Promotion?

Many fans were shocked when Pauley Perrette announced, earlier this month, that she is leaving the show after NCIS Season 15. The 48-year-old CBS star has been playing the role of forensic specialist Abby Sciuto for 16 years already. However, the New Orleans-native is set to sign off after the current installment comes to a close.

Via her official Twitter account, Pauley Perrette made the shocking announcement on October 4. In the said post, the NCIS Season 15 actress revealed that she already made the decision last year. The former wife of Coyote Shivers also emphasized that there is no drama behind her choice.

“There has been all kinds of false stories as to why (NO I DON’T HAVE A SKIN CARE LINE AND NO MY NETWORK AND SHOW ARE NOT MAD AT ME!) It was a decision made last year. I hope everyone will love and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the rest of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years. All the love, all the laughter, all the inspiration…I love her as much as you do.”

However, in a series of tweets, Pauley Perrette exposed that a sexual assault had affected her love and work life. The NCIS Season 15 star said she was raped when she was fifteen by a football player. Radar Online reports Pauley had also expressed her disappointment for not doing anything after she was abused.

“I lost my virginity in a rape when I was 15, by a football player. That’s the ‘power guy’ in high school. And you know what I SAID? What I DID…? Nothing.”

Pauley Perrette added that the sexual assault had led her into a series of unmannerly relationships and awful self-blaming. The actress said she even allowed herself to be tormented by a powerful man in a work environment.

“My rape led me into a series of abusive relationships, terrible self-worth, and self-blame, dismissing a few groping incidents, allowing myself to be bullied by a powerful man for way too long in a work environment, until I finally said ENOUGH.”

Because of this, some fans cannot help but speculate that this could be the main reason why Pauley Perrette had decided to leave the show after 16 long years. While these speculations could be true, it is important to note that the CBS and the NCIS Season 15 actress have yet to confirm these reports. Hence, avid followers of the popular TV series should take these unverified claims lightly until everything is proven true and correct.

Meanwhile, CarterMatt previously claimed that Mark Harmon is not leaving the show after NCIS Season 15 despite the never-ending departure rumors. The news outlet said the 66-year-old actor could possibly have lesser fieldwork on the show as he will be getting a promotion. “[Mark] may eventually decide to move on or go in a lesser direction; there’s already a possible thread on the story about him getting a promotion that could take him out of the field to a certain degree,” the publication claimed.

Neither Mark Harmon nor CBS has confirmed these rumors. Therefore, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt. Stay tuned for more NCIS Season 15 spoilers, news, and updates!
