Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal Greg Rikaart will be soap-hopping for a multi-episode arc on Days of Our Lives in early 2018. Naturally, Y&R fans flipped out, thinking that could mean his days of playing Kevin were over. CBS made a statement that revealed Rikaart’s future on Young and the Restless.
After 14 years, Greg received his walking papers and learned that he would be dropped to recurring status. The Young and the Restless star said that it was a complete shock, as he assumed his contract would renew as it had for the past 13 years. However, CBS came back and told him they want to see less of Kevin in the next year.
Several weeks ago, after returning to Genoa City to help Victor, Kevin went back to Oregon with his daughter. Young and the Restless spoilers suggest he could return at any time. He assured his family that he was enjoying making a fresh start in Oregon and still believes he made the right decision to relocate. Little do they know, Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is alive and living with him.
The question on every Young and the Restless viewers’ mind is, will Kevin ever come back to Genoa City?
According to Soap Central, Rikaart’s Days gig will not prevent him from returning to The Young and the Restless if they would need him. Sony Entertainment owns CBS and NBC, which allows the actors to play on both soaps. Eileen Davidson has juggled Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless for many years. In fact, Davidson will return to DOOL during the week of October 30.
Young and the Restless spoilers state that Greg Rikaart could switch between Days and Y&R, so Kevin could pop up anytime Victor (Eric Braeden) may need his tech skills.
As for who Greg Rikaart will play on Days of Our Lives, NBC is not telling, at least not yet. More details about his top-secret role should be released in January. Are you happy that Greg Rikaart can return to The Young and the Restless? Will you watch him on Days of Our Lives?
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
