Mirella Ponce Pictures: Gang Member’s ‘Hot Mugshot’ Goes Viral, Strangers Offer To Pay Her Bail

Mirella Ponce may be facing serious jail time for a gun charge, but the 20-year-old gang member’s “hot” mugshot is getting her nationwide attention and even offers from strangers to pay her bail.

Ponce was picked up this week by the Fresno Police Department for possession of a loaded firearm, and when the department shared her mugshot on their Facebook page, she gained thousands of admirers across the country. As the Miami Herald noted, her picture gained more than 3,000 shares within a few hours of the picture being posted.

There were also plenty of supportive comments from those falling in love with the accused criminal.

“The only crime she committed was stealing my heart,” one person wrote on Facebook.

Mirella Ponce’s mugshot showed off her many neck and chest tattoos, including one that read “Love is Pain.” She also had a rose tattooed across her neck and a black leather jacket.

Ponce could face some real consequences for her latest arrest. According to the New York Daily News, she was in a car with other gang members and her infant child when she was arrested. It was not clear how much jail time she might face or her arrest history, but the charge is a serious one in the state of California.

Pictures of Mirella Ponce spread across social media after the mugshot was shared, drawing comparisons to another famous felon. In 2014, a mugshot of gang member Jeremy Meeks went viral for his good looks, and after he was released from prison Meeks parlayed his viral fame into a career as a model.

In the months that followed, Meeks became a celebrity in his own right, with many celebrity news outlets focusing on his dating life including a very public affair with Topshop heiress Chloe Green after he got out of prison.

Melissa Meeks, Jeremy’s estranged wife, has recently spoken up about the pain the affair caused her.

“He was an amazing husband, honestly,” Melissa said during an interview on the U.K. TV show This Morning (via People magazine).

“When I think about it sometimes I still get emotional, especially looking at old pictures.”

It’s not clear whether Mirella Ponce will follow the same path to fame, but she is already off to a good start. Her mugshot continues to gain fame, with news outlets across the country picking up her story.
