Undertaker Confirmed To Make First WWE Appearance Since ‘WrestleMania 33’

WWE has released information of The Undertaker making his first appearance since competing in the WrestleMania 33 main event match against Roman Reigns. Throughout early 2017, there were many projections of where Undertaker would land his come appearance in Orlando, Florida. For a considerable amount of time, he was pegged to win the Royal Rumble and subsequently the WWE Championship. Other reports stated that he would defeat AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble to win the championship, and then defend the title against John Cena at WrestleMania. The reason why this match was canceled was due to Undertaker recently having hip surgery, and being inside the Royal Rumble was a much easier load for his body to carry.

This hip surgery was seemingly insurmountable to allow him to continue an in-ring career. Despite all the speculation, Undertaker ended up competing against Reigns, which main-evented the show. Reigns would give Undertaker his second loss ever at WrestleMania, and the conclusion of the match showed the Deadman ceremonially disrobing, leaving his robe, hat, and gloves all in the middle of the ring. He would also walk over to kiss his wife Michelle McCool in the front row, before throwing up his first and descending from the ramp.

This match at WrestleMania was indeed widely believed to be his last one ever. For the past few years, there are recurring discussions of whether Undertaker would wrestle his last match, but he would come back to compete against names such as Bray Wyatt and Shane McMahon. While there are still unconfirmed reports that he may make his in-ring return at Survivor Series, WWE has recently confirmed the next appearance of The Phenom.

Undertaker will be making his WWE return via an appearance at the WizardWorld Comic Con event this weekend in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Since appearances and interviews from him are very rare, it is expected to sell incredibly quickly. Most likely, there will be questions posed to him of whether he will step back in the ring. Seeing how Undertaker is typically not the one to tip his hat, fans may just have to wait until stepping back in the ring actually happens, if it ever does.
