Here’s When Roman Reigns Will Return To WWE Television

Unfortunately, Roman Reigns was forced to miss WWE TLC last night after catching the viral illness going around the WWE locker room right now. Roman’s absence created the opportunity for Kurt Angle to make his return to the ring for WWE. The WWE Universe had a ton of fun with the match last night, but Roman’s absence has put the official reunion of The Shield on hold and the fans want to know for how much longer.

There are conflicting reports about Roman Reigns having meningitis or the mumps. Some other wrestlers have tested positive for the latter and the expectation is Roman has as well. It’s being reported that Reigns will also miss tonight edition of Monday Night Raw and could miss even more time. As of this writing, it’s being said that Roman and others will be reevaluated next Monday and a decision will be made afterward.

On paper, this means the earliest that Roman Reigns or anyone else on the mend will return to television is next week. WWE officials had to hit the pause button on the official Shield reunion. The earlier Roman can get back into the ring, the happier the WWE Universe will be. He may have a complex dynamic with a lot of WWE fans, but most people enjoy Reigns character a lot more as a part of The Shield than as a singles star.

At the moment, the WWE Universe is expecting The Shield reunion to last for at least the rest of 2017. Last week, it was reported that Kane and Reigns will be rekindling their rivalry from a few years back. Kane will be seeking retribution against Roman for being the one to retire The Undertaker. Between The Shield and a new program with The Big Red Machine, Roman Reigns has plenty to stay busy with on WWE programming.

The bright side of this situation is WWE Survivor Series isn’t for another month. WWE officials have some time to let Roman get healthy and book him into another huge match for that event in November. It’s a pity that Reigns missed the WWE TLC PPV, but Kurt Angle’s return was enough to keep the fans interested. On paper, Roman Reigns should be back on WWE television next week. Hopefully, he can pick up right where he left off with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. For now, WWE officials just need to get through this week.
