Jinder Mahal Comments On Possibly Reuniting 3MB To Face The Shield

Jinder Mahal is still the WWE champion and he has surpassed lots of legends along the way in terms of length of title reign. Mahal is the most unlikely superstar to hold the WWE Championship because of his past role as part of the comedic stable of jobbers called 3MB, along with Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre, during his first run in the company.

In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, the proud WWE champion was asked if he is interested in reuniting with Slater and McIntyre to reform 3MB, and face off against the recently reunited stable of The Shield. Mahal laughed loudly at the question, but he was very honest in saying that he wants to see 3MB battle The Shield someday.

“You know what? Someday, definitely. Not right now. I’m doing my own thing. Drew’s doing his own thing as the NXT Champion, and I’m waiting for Heath Slater to beat Brock Lesnar and become the Universal Champion. But he’s great. He won the Tag Team Championship along with Rhyno.”

For those who did not know, 3MB or The Three Man Band formed in 2012. They feuded with WWE superstars from the lower mid-card like Santino Marella, Brodus Clay, Zack Ryder, and Yoshi Tatsu. 3MB also fell victims to beatings by top WWE superstars such as Kane, The Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar.

Jinder Mahal added that he believes 3MB was underrated despite their past roles as jobbers. He is proud of their history and how they reinvented themselves in the past year. Mahal became the WWE champion, McIntyre won the NXT Championship, and Slater was one-half of the first-ever SmackDown Live Tag Team champions.

“Who would have thought? 3MB was very underrated. But we dedicated ourselves, we reinvented ourselves, we motivated ourselves. You might see The Shield vs. 3MB someday.”

Meanwhile, The Shield is the talk of the wrestling world over the past couple of weeks, as recapped by WWE.com. Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins finally reunited after three years apart. The Shield are going to take on The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro, and Sheamus in the first ever 5-on-3 TLC Handicap Match this coming Sunday at TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. The Shield are expected to be together past this Sunday’s pay-per-view until Survivor Series next month.

On the other hand, a 3MB reunion is out of the question at the moment with Jinder Mahal focusing on his challenge to Brock Lesnar while Drew McIntyre is busy defending his NXT Championship against the likes of Andrade “Cien” Almas, and Adam Cole. As for Heath Slater, he has been lost in the shuffle ever since getting sent to Monday Night Raw in the Superstar Shakeup. He was getting used correctly on SmackDown Live, but he recently jobbed to Elias as his Southpaw Regional Wrestling character, Pelvis Wesley. It appears he is back to being a comedic superstar, unlike his previous 3MB partners.
