WWE News: Kane Returns To ‘Raw’ During Main Event, Will Be Part of Huge ‘TLC 2017’ PPV Match

The latest episode of Monday’s WWE Raw featured a huge main event and a major superstar making his return ahead of TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2017. With the big pay-per-view coming up on Sunday, The Shield was already booked in a handicap match against The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, and Braun Strowman. However, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle said a new member would be added if Braun Strowman could defeat Roman Reigns in the main event steel cage match. That fifth superstar on The Miz’s team will be none other than Kane who made his surprising big return to the Monday night show.

According to ProWrestling.net, during Monday’s WWE Raw results from Portland, Oregon, the main event featured Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman inside a steel cage. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz sat in on guest commentary and the Raw commentators tried to ask who he would add as a fifth man for his team if Braun Strowman won the steel cage match. Miz was tight-lipped on that topic but seemed to hype up the fact that Braun was going to destroy Reigns in the ring. The two would battle it out for a good while with Sheamus and Cesaro eventually trying to scale the cage to cut off Reigns from the win.

Reigns’ Shield brothers would rush out to make a save and fight off Sheamus and Cesaro. Those four men would end up battling up the ramp and on stage appropriately near tables, ladders, and chairs. The fight spilled backstage, with The Miz heading back there to shut a door down in the garage. That would keep The Shield from being able to help out Roman anymore in his fight with Strowman in the cage.

Strowman managed to gain momentum and was looking to climb out of the cage, but ended up getting crotched on the top rope. Reigns hit multiple Superman Punches on him and set up for a Spear. He went for it but Braun tossed him in the air to prevent it. However, Reigns blasted him with another Superman Punch for a very close pinfall attempt. As the match continued, suddenly fans saw and heard the sights and sounds of a familiar entrance. It was “The Big Red Machine” Kane.

Kane wasn’t visible right away as Reigns kept battling Strowman inside the cage. However, Kane soon popped up through the mat to grab Reigns. He would go on to hit a Chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver. That was enough to put Reigns down for good, allowing Braun Strowman to capture the win. With Strowman’s pinfall victory, it also gave The Miz’s team their fifth member. Seated high on a ladder, Miz announced on a microphone that Kane would be joining his team for Sunday’s match against The Shield at TLC 2017.

Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, has actually been away from the ring for a little while for his political campaign. Jacobs has been running for Mayor in Knox County, Tennessee making this return to the WWE ring just in time for TLC 2017 very interesting. Some fans may have first thought it would be Samoa Joe making the return, but bringing in Kane, who could be a part-timer, is an interesting way to possibly give The Shield someone to defeat who isn’t on WWE Raw as much.

The Shield takes on The Miz, Sheamus, Cesaro, Braun Strowman and new team member Kane at Sunday’s TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs 2017 pay-per-view.
