WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar Can’t Leave WWE Until Next Summer

Before WrestleMania 31, Brock Lesnar signed a new three-year contract with WWE. Since then, the WWE Universe has been under the impression that his deal would expire almost immediately after WrestleMania 34 next year. WWE officials are still planning a huge rematch between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title at the event, but it’s come to light that Lesnar could be staying with WWE longer.

It’s been rumored that The Beast Incarnate may have changed his mind about re-signing with the company after Jon Jones recent suspension following UFC 214. The “super-fight” between the two men could still be a huge match-up down the line, but Jones’ suspension isn’t the only obstacle in the way. It’s been revealed by UFC President Dana White that Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract doesn’t actually expire until this summer.

Heading into UFC 200, Lesnar’s contract with WWE didn’t get in the way of him competing in the Octagon, but Brock’s issues with the USADA tarnished his performance and White will most likely want to wait until he’s no longer under contract with WWE. There will be a lot of speculation about Lesnar’s future with UFC, but the important issue at hand is Brock Lesnar’s run with WWE being extended beyond WrestleMania 34.

As of this writing, it’s almost a guarantee that Roman Reigns is winning the WWE Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34. A lot of people expected that to serve as Lesnar’s WWE retirement match, but his run being extended by a few months opens up a summer full of possibilities. Unfortunately, Brock’s last date has not been revealed yet, but it’s likely it would happen at WWE Summerslam in August.

There have been reports that Lesnar would continue his rivalry with Braun Strowman if he were to re-sign with the company. WrestleMania 34 is still six months away, so a lot can happen before his WWE contract finally expires next summer. For now, Brock Lesnar is expected to be a part of WWE Survivor Series again this year. The long-awaited match between The Beast Incarnate and Finn Balor is also expected to happen soon. Lesnar will be busy for the rest of 2017, but more news about his WWE future will come to light soon.
