Rapper Wiz Khalifa and his fiancee Amber Rose are planning to raise their son — who is due in a couple of weeks — around marijuana.
While Khalifa has not smoked around Rose since finding out she was pregnant with their first child, the couple did say that they were going to raise their son to understand what marijuana is .
“I think it’s all about how you’re raised with it,” Khalifa said in an interview with E! News . “Before, there was a much more negative outtake on it. You know, pot and what it can do, and the effects of it.”
Khalifa also said that he wasn’t going to smoke around his baby boy, “because smoke in general and being high is not good for a kid. None of that.”
He also said that he and Rose would teach the child to “know the difference between being a child and not being able to use it and being an adult and knowing how to use it.”
Rose agreed that she and Khalifa planned to set limitations for their son, and that he would know that “daddy likes to smoke.”
Amber Rose confirmed her pregnancy at the VMAs in September. Khalifa said that he was “going to be the best dad and the best performer and the best husband” that he could be. And apparently part of being the best dad he can be involves him teaching his son about marijuana.
Anyone who has listened to Wiz Khalifa’s music knows about his love affair with weed, so it perhaps doesn’t come as a surprise that he is intending to raise his son around the drug. But being a parent can change everything — just ask David Letterman — so perhaps that intention might change once the child gets here.
