Reese Witherspoon A Vision In Red In ‘Home Again’ Movie Poster, Actress Gears Up For Rom-Com Return

Reese Witherspoon is a vision of red in her new Home Again movie poster, and fans are tickled pink over her return to romantic comedy.

Reese hasn’t starred in a romantic comedy flick since the 2012 McG-directed film, This Means War, where she starred alongside Tom Hardy and Chris Pine. However, Witherspoon is gearing up for a rom-com return later this fall.

Reese Witherspoon’s Home Again movie poster debuted recently, according to Refinery29. It shows the 41-year-old Water for Elephants star draped in red — from her lipstick to her toenails. Next to Reese’s foreboding expression are the words in the Home Again movie’s subtitle, “Starting over is not for beginners.”

Witherspoon’s upcoming movie is written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, the daughter of Nancy Meyers. The former is best known in Hollywood for box office hits, Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated and The Parent Trap, to name a few.

The elder Meyers is a producer of Home Again. Reese plays the role of a 40-year-old woman (Alice Kinney), a single mother in Los Angeles, who makes a bold decision to take in three charming flat mates. Her estranged husband (played by Michael Sheen) doesn’t hide his disagreement with the housing arrangement.

Although the premise of Home Again is “starting over,” as seen on the poster, the steamy scenes — “crushing,” “kissing” and the like — make for an “awkward” living situation.

“So many boys. So many smooches. Reid Scott, Nat Wolff, Candice Bergen, Jon Rudnitsky, Pico Alexander, and Lake Bell costar in the comedy…”

Wolff and Bell are no newcomers to the Meyers brand of cinema. They both collaborated with Nancy in the past on “The Intern” and It’s Complicated, respectively.

Witherspoon’s new movie follows a long list of romantic comedy projects, including Four Christmases, How Do You Know, Just Like Heaven and the Legally Blonde series of films, among others.

Reese’s film hits theaters on Sept. 8. It premieres on the same day as New Line Cinema’s horror-thriller (inspired by Stephen King novel), It. On Sept. 17, the actress learns if there is cause for a double celebration; she’s nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series at the 69th Emmy Awards 2017 gala.
