Rick Ross Tour Canceled: Rapper Scraps More Shows Following Threats

Rick Ross has canceled the remainder of his tour with Maybach Music Group, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The rapper became the target of The Gangster Disciples after its members took offense to Ross’ use of their leader’s name in one of his songs. In an effort to get their message across, the group issued a threatening YouTube video aimed at Ross.

Shortly after canceling a number of shows in North Carolina, its being reported the rapper has decided to scrap his tour altogether. Representatives for Ross told AllHipHop.com the cancellation was prompted by an “apparent lack of organization and communication on the part of the tour promoter.” No mention of the threats were made.

The rapper also told the website he was sorry for the impromptu cancellation of his US tour.

Rick Ross said:

“I want to apologize to all of my fans who I missed performing for due to the cancellations and want to let them know that I will get back to their cities. I enjoyed my experience with my little bros Wale and Meek Mill, and I’m ready to get back in the studio to make good music.”

The Inquisitr previously reported that Ross canceled a handful of shows in North Carolina following the thinly-veiled threats made by The Gangster Disciples. Although many believe the dates were scrapped as a result of the intimidating clip, the rapper blamed promoters for the cancellation.

Minister and Hip Hop journalist Paul Scott told The Charlotte Observer the threats made against Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group should be taken seriously by fans and parents alike.

“Hip Hop does not represent the real street, the commercial Hip Hop that Rick Ross promotes represents Wall Street and Wall Street cares nothing about the loss of human life if they can make a dollar,” Scott explained.
