‘Star Wars: Episode 8’ Rumor: Trailer To ‘Outperform’ Recent Saga Film Previews

The full trailer for Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi will be quite a treat to fans, with Disney and Lucasfilm looking to break new ground with it.

Star Wars watcher and YouTuber Mike Zeroh has revealed a new set of niceties about the upcoming trailer, which is expected to be shown this summer.

Before going over the details, it is to be noted that there are three trailers reportedly being worked on for Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi, one of which will be tied to Spider-Man: Homecoming and Dunkirk, another for the D23 event, and one for the web.

According to Zeroh, the Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi trailer “outperforms” all trailers for the most recent films in the saga like Star Wars: Episode 7 – The Force Awakens. This suggests that Disney and Lucasfilm are going big for the first full-length preview for the highly-anticipated sequel.

The second trailer for The Force Awakens was definitely something that got fans hyped up. The recent spinoff Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was also quite the mind-blower, seeing that it featured a foretaste of Darth Vader’s return to the big screen after decades. If the Star Wars: Episode 8 trailer will exceed these, fans can expect big things from it.

In the past, Zeroh has revealed exciting money shots in the trailer, including Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) standing on his meditation rock as it levitates and a first look at new characters such as Vice Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern), Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), and even the Slicer (Justin Theroux).

The latest details he found about the Star Wars: Episode 8 trailer tease that it will be huge on Luke and Rey (Daisy Ridley), who will reportedly make up “40 percent” of the preview.

One of these shots will include the stone huts in Ahch-To, which will give fans a glimpse of where the Jedi Knight has been after all these years during his self-imposed exile. It will also show Rey wielding her lightsaber off the coast of the planet.

Zeroh added that the full trailer will also provide an extended sequence of the Battle of Crait, which will feature a better view of the AT-M6, the new and improved versions of the AT-ATs in Star Wars: Episode 5 – Empire Strikes Back that were shown, but only from far away, in The Last Jedi teaser trailer.

With all that said, there will definitely be a lot to expect by the next time fans get to see Star Wars: Episode 8. The trailers are expected to drop around July.

Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi hits the cinemas December 15.
