Miranda Lambert Was Reportedly Touched By Blake Shelton’s Emotional Performance

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton both performed at the recent CMT Music Awards, but the 40-year-old country charmer stirred up rumors that he is still hung up on his ex-wife when he sang a breakup song. While The Voice coach was singing “Every Time I Hear That Song,” the 33-year-old songstress allegedly felt a bit awkward hearing him sing about his past relationship.

The producers seemed to have made sure that the former husband and wife would not bump into each other at the awards ceremony. In fact, Shelton skipped the red carpet while Lambert walked with her boyfriend, Anderson East. Their seats are also reportedly far from each other.

While Blake was on stage singing his latest single, the cameras avoided showing Lambert, which left many fans wondering what she felt hearing his song. There wasn’t even any confirmation if she was in her seat when her ex-husband was performing.

“No one [in the audience] quite knew where to look,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “Miranda kept her cool during the performance, but it was really uncomfortable for her, especially with Anderson [there].”

According to the magazine, Lambert was touched by Shelton’s emotional performance. However, he reportedly sang that song not to rekindle their romance, but to send a closure to his ex-wife. Watch Blake’s performance of “Every Time I Hear That Song” at the CMT Music Awards below:

It was quite a bit risky for Blake Shelton to sing a song would ignite rumors that he’s still thinking of Miranda Lambert. However, his girlfriend Gwen Stefani reportedly has no problem with him singing his single. She is allegedly confident that her lover has no feelings left for his ex-wife. The 47-year-old pop star wasn’t able to accompany her boyfriend at the CMTs, but she showed her support for him on Instagram.

The former country power couple both admitted that their new album consists of songs that talk about their past relationships, which probably included the reason for their divorce. The Pistol Annies member confessed to Billboard that she was nervous about the release of her album, The Weight of These Wings, because people would find out what she had gone through in her life, including the good, bad, and ugly.

“Every record I’ve ever made has been a reflection of where I am right then in my life, however old I am. And I’ve never held back at all. But this time,” she said referring to her divorce, “with what I happened to be going through in my life, being honest was never really a choice. Everybody knew anyway.”

During the ACM Awards, Miranda Lambert made a comment about her heartbreak from Blake Shelton when she received her Album of the Year award. Gwen Stefani reportedly got upset because she thinks that it is about time that the country superstar stopped talking about her ex-husband. They have been divorced for more than a year, and she is already dating East.

“Gwen thinks Miranda really needs to focus on her current relationship [with Anderson] and not her ex,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “Gwen gets that Miranda’s split with Blake was heartbreaking but come on, it’s time to move on.”
