Ellen DeGeneres And Wife Portia De Rossi Are Reportedly Trying To Save Their Marriage Amid Divorce Rumors
Ellen DeGeneres may have just been spotted without her wedding ring during an outing in Los Angeles, but according to a new report, the talk show host is doing what she can to save her marriage to wife Portia De Rossi.
Following an alleged verbal dispute outside of a Los Angeles restaurant in May, which was reportedly caught on camera, the 59-year-old talk show host and her 44-year-old actress wife may not be in the best place. That said, a report on June 9 claims DeGeneres is dedicated to making things work between them.
“The two of them are not in a good place in their relationship right now!” a source told Radar Online.
As the outlet explained, Ellen DeGeneres was recently spotted with a mystery brunette, and days later, she stepped out in West Hollywood without her wedding ring. As Radar Online reported earlier this week, DeGeneres was seen without her ring and without her wife as she ran errands with a mystery man while wearing a sweatsuit.
Although tension is reportedly lingering between the talk show host and her wife, Ellen DeGeneres is allegedly willing to do almost anything to salvage their marriage.
“[Ellen Degeneres] is trying everything she can to keep Portia from running,” said the source. “She has been buying her elaborate gifts and recently splurged on this huge vacation to the South Pacific for just the two of them, but Portia did not want to go!”
For the past few months, as divorce rumors continue to swirl, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife have remained silent in regard to their possible marital troubles. That said, a source recently claimed that part of their reported struggles had been Ellen DeGeneres’ alleged alcohol problem. Now, however, the talk show host has reportedly gotten her drinking under control.
“[Ellen Degeneres] has always been a drinker, but she does not drink on set or when she is working,” said the source. “That does not seem to be their problem right now.”
While Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi have chosen to keep quiet about the rumors regarding the potential end of their marriage, DeGeneres gushed over their relationship during an interview with People at the end of last year.
“Portia and I constantly say to each other, ‘We are so lucky.’ Sometimes it’s lying in bed at night before I go to sleep, and I just say thank you to whatever, whoever is out there,” she said. “I’ve gotten to a place where I really am just settled. Really. I know that I’m not going anywhere. She’s not going anywhere. I’m not saying the relationship took a while; I’m saying in my life, it took a while to find this.”
According to Ellen DeGeneres, “you get what you give” when it comes to love and one can never expect to be treated any certain way by anyone. Ellen DeGeneres went on to reveal that she and her wife have chosen to keep one another at the top of their priority list and explained that because they have no children of their own, they are able to put more of a focus on the health of their marriage.
“Our priorities are each other too,” the talk show host said. “If [Portia and I] had kids, then I’m sure they would be, but we are. And that’s important.”
