Wetpaint Takes $25 million

Wiki provider Wetpaint has taken $25 million series C in a round that included DAG Ventures, Accel Partners, Trinity Ventures, and Frazier Technology Ventures.

Wetpaint is a free wiki hosting service founded in October 2005 that targets non-technical internet users who want to collaborate online, and in March 2008 added social networking features. Wetpaint is free to use and supported by contextual advertising.

The new round takes Wetpaint’s total funding to $40 million. Wetpaint said in a release that it would use the additional funds “to accelerate the adoption of its leading social publishing platform and execute on its vision of making every site on the Web socially published with users empowered to create, collect, and organize content together.”

Update: Kara Swisher adds that Fidelity also invested.
