The ‘Teen Mom 2′ Cast Is Not Feuding Over Briana DeJesus’ Season 8 Addition: ‘They’re Excited To Have Me’

The Teen Mom 2 cast is not at odds in regard to the recent addition of former Teen Mom 3 star Briana DeJesus.

Although previous reports claimed the cast and crew of the series, which includes Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, Chelsea Houska, and Kailyn Lowry, were upset about the addition of a fifth star, DeJesus shot down the rumors during an interview on June 6. In fact, DeJesus claimed the Teen Mom 2 cast has been welcoming.

“I’ve spoken with most of the girls on the show. They’re excited to have me on. All those rumors going around the internet are completely false, none of us are beefing,” DeJesus explained to Us Weekly. “Of course, it might be hard for me to come into this new group of moms because I’m the newbie, so I can understand their feelings and if they’re concerned about me coming on, but I just want to help these girls and help the girls watching us.”

While the cast of Teen Mom 2 got their start on the second season of MTV’s 16 & Pregnant in 2011, DeJesus didn’t appear on the series until the fourth season in 2012. From there, she went on to appear in the short-lived Teen Mom 3 with Mackenzie McKee, Katie Yeager, and Alexandria Sekella. The series aired for one season in 2013 and was promptly canceled due to low ratings.

Although DeJesus said there is no drama between her and her Teen Mom 2 co-stars, she did say that she was bringing plenty of drama to the show with her complicated life, which currently features a pregnancy, a strained relationship, and baby daddy drama.

“There are a lot of tears, some laughter and you still see the story line from the original where my sister [Brittany] had the abortion and I didn’t,” she said. “Now you really see how our decisions affected us — the good and bad about both and the different paths we both took.”

Briana DeJesus went on to reveal that her relationship with her daughter Nova’s father remains strayed. As fans may recall from Teen Mom 3, DeJesus and Austin’s relationship hasn’t been good in years, but surprisingly, Austin does make an appearance in Nova’s life once in a while.

“[Devoin is] wishy-washy. You don’t know what to expect from him. He’ll come visit for a week straight, then I won’t hear from him for a month,” she said. “Nova is so beautiful. He’s missing out on so much and she’s missing out on a real father figure.”

Briana DeJesus went on to reveal that her daughter is girly and loves fashion.

As for the rest of the girls, everyone appears to have a complex storyline as they continue to film for the eighth season of Teen Mom 2.

Earlier this year, after Kailyn Lowry’s May 2016 divorce and Chelsea Houska’s October 2016 wedding, Houska welcomed her second child and Jenelle Evans welcomed her third. Both women gave birth at the end of January and announced the births of their children, Houska’s son Watson and Evans’ daughter Ensley, on Instagram.

As for Leah Messer, she continues to co-parent her three children with her two ex-husbands, Corey Simms and Jeremy Calvert.

As filming continues on Teen Mom 2 Season 8, fans are awaiting the upcoming birth of Kailyn Lowry’s third child, who is due sometime this summer. Lowry announced her pregnancy in February and revealed that she and her third baby’s father are no longer together.
