Jessa Duggar Celebrates Joseph’s Engagement, Fans Think His Fiancee Looks Like His Sister

Jessa Duggar and her family members have an ever-growing number of birthdays and wedding anniversaries to film congratulatory videos for, but Jessa recently decided that the Duggars need one more special occasion to celebrate.

Jessa Duggar recently used her Instagram page to welcome her future sister-in-law, Kendra Caldwell, into the family fold. As People reports, Jessa and the rest of her famous family members got to witness the moment that Joseph Duggar proposed to Kendra because he decided to do it at Joy-Anna Duggar’s May 26 wedding reception.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, some Duggar critics slammed Joseph Duggar for stealing the spotlight from Joy-Anna on her big day, but Jessa seems to think that Joseph’s engagement isn’t getting enough attention. To make sure that all Counting On fans know that they have yet another wedding special to look forward to, Jessa created a new special occasion for Joseph and Kendra to celebrate: their “weekiversary.”

“And….Happy 1 weekiversary to Joe & Kendra! She’s a gem. Looking forward to a Duggar Bro wedding!!!!” Jessa wrote on Instagram.

Jessa’s well wishes were accompanied by a photo of Joseph and Kendra that was snapped at Joy-Anna’s wedding. Kendra was a bridesmaid, along with Jessa and a few other Duggar girls.

Some fans can’t get over how much Kendra Caldwell looks like her future sisters-in-law.

“I stared at her for way too long trying to figure out which sister she was…then read the caption, looked at him, and immediately recognized him,” one of Jessa’s Instagram followers wrote.

“I thought she was a duggar at first glance. Whoops!” another wrote.

The Duggar girls don’t think that it’s weird for their sisters-in-law to resemble them, as evidenced by a throwback photo that was recently posted on the Dedicated to the Duggars Tumblr. In the picture, Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna, is wearing the same pink striped shirt and ankle-length jean skirt as Jana, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna.

If Kendra Caldwell hasn’t quite nailed the Duggar girls’ “modern modest” look yet, she could always attend one of Jessa’s fashion seminars. As Starcasm reports, Jessa will deliver a lecture titled “Fashionably Modest with Jessa” on June 24 at the Heavenly Highway Tabernacle’s ladies’ retreat in Middletown, Ohio. Guests have to pay $25 for the privilege of listening to a Duggar tell them how to dress, but perhaps Kendra could score a special sister-in-law discount. Joseph would have to stay home because it’s a female-only event.

Jessa Duggar will need to schedule her future speaking gigs around Joseph and Kendra’s wedding. The Duggars like short engagements, so it will only be a matter of months before the young couple gets an actual wedding anniversary date to celebrate. In the meantime, Jessa probably won’t continue congratulating Joseph and Kendra on each week of their engagement. The Duggars don’t usually acknowledge “weekiversaries,” but perhaps Jessa is making an exception for Kendra and Joseph because she’s so excited that another Duggar boy is finally getting married.

Josh was the first Duggar son to get married, and so far he’s been the only one to do so. After he and Anna tied the knot, Josh began carefully constructing an image of himself as a godly family man. However, cracks in this illusion appeared when it was discovered that he had molested Jessa and three other sisters as a teen, and it completely crumbled when he confessed to being unfaithful to his wife.

Patheos speculates that Jim Bob Duggar is orchestrating his children’s engagements and marriages to distract from Josh’s scandals and that it was actually the Duggar patriarch who dreamed up the idea for Joseph to pop the question at Joy-Anna’s wedding. The proposal will make for must-see TV when it’s shown on Counting On, and then it will be up to Joseph to prove that not all Duggar men are terrible marriage material. Jessa already thinks that her younger brother is worthy of a “weekiversary” post, so she seems to have high hopes for his marriage.
