Melania Trump is facing a new round of divorce rumors after reports that she is carrying on an affair with a man named Hank Siemers, who serves as the head of security at Tiffany & Co. just a short walk from Trump Tower in Manhattan.

Throughout Donald Trump’s run for president and his surprising victory, there have been intermittent rumors that Donald and Melania’s relationship is nearing its breaking point. This was the case during Donald’s string of scandals during the campaign, including the release of audio from his 2005 appearance on Access Hollywood in which Trump bragged about sexually assaulting women, and a subsequent series of women who came forward claiming Trump had acted in a sexually inappropriate manner with them.

Melania Trump has stood by her husband throughout these scandals, but the whispers that they could be headed for divorce have intensified. Those rumors came to a head this week when novelist and playwright Monica Byrne unleashed a series of tweets claiming that Melania was carrying on a long-term affair with a man who serves as head of security for Tiffany & Co.

Though Byrne did not specifically name Hank Siemers, several others identified him, and his name became a trending term across social media.

Byrne also made reference to a report that claimed Donald and Melania Trump had already signed divorce papers and came to a settlement ahead of the election, but that the plans changed once Trump won in November. That mirrored a previous report from independent journalist Claude Taylor, who claimed in May that several reporters knew about the divorce agreement but have not reported on it.

Rumors of a possible divorce for Donald and Melania Trump had already been growing after a series of seemingly icy interactions during the president’s first trip abroad while in office. Video captured a strange moment after the couple got off Air Force One in Israel, with Melania appearing to slap away Donald’s attempt to hold her hand.

Dr. Lillian Glass, a communication expert, told Elle that the incident could have been a show of respect for Orthodox Jewish tradition. But a later incident in Rome where Melania appeared to once again rebuff Donald’s attempt to hold her hand was more telling, Glass said.

“So there is definitely some breakage in that relationship,” Dr. Glass claimed.

But during that same trip, Melania and Donald were also seen in some happier and more intimate moments, and Melania shared pictures of the trip through her Twitter page.

There have also been reports that Melania, portrayed by some as distant to Donald and unhappy with having to move from Trump Tower in Manhattan and into the White House, actually wields more power with her husband’s presidency than previously thought.

Melania’s decision to remain in New York as the couple’s son Barron finished his school year was interpreted by many as another sign of trouble in the marriage. A subsequent report from Vanity Fair claimed that the couple was growing increasingly distant, and never were on solid ground even in the beginning. The report cited a person who spent time in the Trump home who claimed that Donald only agreed to have a child with Melania on the condition that she would get her body back into shape again afterward.

Despite the growing divorce rumors, neither Donald nor Melania Trump has given any public indication that their marriage could be in trouble. Melania has also repeatedly stood by her husband, including the wake of the Access Hollywood report and allegations of sexual misconduct from a string of women. She has also not spoken about rumors of an affair with Hank Siemers.
