‘Extreme Rules’ Betting Odds Indicate A Surprising Choice Winning No. 1. Contender Match

The biggest match at WWE Extreme Rules this Sunday night on the WWE Network is a No. 1 contender’s extreme rules five-way match, with the winner getting a shot at Brock Lesnar at Great Balls of Fire in Dallas in July. Wrestling Inc has reported that the betting odds for the No. 1 contender’s match have a surprising person in the lead to win the match.

While no one expected Roman Reigns to win the match, it is Samoa Joe who is favored to win the match and battle Brock Lesnar next month at Great Balls of Fire. The odds for Samoa Joe to win the Extreme Rules match are 4/7. This means that a bet of $7 would only win $4 if a person chose Joe to win this match, making him the favorite to come out on top.

Outside of Samoa Joe, all five other wrestlers at Extreme Rules are not favored to win at all. Seth Rollins is in second place with 23/10 odds, which means a $10 bet would win $23. On a bet like that, the casino would lose money, which is why Samoa Joe has the best odds to win.

The rest of the field includes Finn Balor at 3/1 odds, Roman Reigns at 12/1 odds, and Bray Wyatt at 14/1 odds. It seems a little strange that Bray Wyatt is in last place considering that most people know that the WWE is keeping Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar apart until WrestleMania 34 next year.

It is also interesting since Brock Lesnar and Bray Wyatt are scheduled to wrestle at the WWE Monday Night Raw in Los Angeles before Great Balls of Fire, although that is expected to be a dark match and not televised.

One of the five men who has gotten the most publicity heading into the match is Finn Balor. Not only did Paul Heyman come out on WWE Monday Night Raw two weeks ago and say that he thinks Finn Balor is the wrestler most likely to win the match, but Balor also held his own against two of his bigger opponents in Bray Wyatt and Samoa Joe in a three-way leading into Extreme Rules.

Samoa Joe won on the last two Monday Night Raw episodes, which is usually a sign that a wrestler will lose at an upcoming WWE pay-per-view. However, while Samoa Joe is getting the quietest response of any of the five wrestlers leading into Extreme Rules, a bout between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe is one that should be hard-hitting and exciting to watch.

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns are rumored to be heading into a WWE feud with each other over the summer in what might eventually lead to a reunion of The Shield. Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Braun Strowman are scheduled to face Brock Lesnar leading into WrestleMania 34 with WWE Universal title defenses surely coming at SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and Royal Rumble.

Other odds for Extreme Rules include The Miz being favored to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Dean Ambrose. The two feuded for the title on SmackDown Live before the WWE Superstar Shakeup and then both ended up on Monday Night Raw. The Miz hinted at possibly cheating to win the title from Ambrose since Ambrose loses his WWE title if he is disqualified.

Alexa Bliss is the favorite to beat Bayley and hold onto her WWE Women’s Championship over Bayley in a Kendo-on-a-Stick match. Cesaro and Sheamus are favored to win the WWE tag team titles from Matt and Jeff Hardy in a Steel Cage at Extreme Rules as well.

Neville will defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Austin Aries in a Submission Match and is favored to walk out of Extreme Rules as the champion as well. In the Extreme Rules undercard match, Rich Swann and Sasha Banks are favored to beat Noam Darr and Alicia Fox in a mixed tag team bout.

WWE Extreme Rules takes place on Sunday night on the WWE Network.
