Fans can watch the Nigeria vs. Togo football match live online and see which team can come out on top in the international friendly match that serves as a preview for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The teams will meet Thursday in Paris at 7 p.m. local time (6 p.m. GMT/1 p.m. ET) with nothing more than pride on the line. However, for both teams, the match will serve as a lead-in to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers that start later in the month.

For the Super Eagles, the match will be a bit of a relief after having only 16 players available for a previous game against Corsica — two of which were goalkeepers. The team now has 20 players to select from, the Premium Times noted.

As the report noted, the additions will make the Nigeria team sharper and more capable to face their African neighbors from Togo.

“However, with the arrival of the quartet of Olarenwaju Kayode from Austria, Victor Osimhen from Germany and the England-based duo of Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, a stronger team is in the offing for the Togo friendly that would be played in Paris.

“Updates from the Media Officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye, indicates that all the players are in top shape and ready for the Togo friendly even though the more crucial AFCON qualifying game against South Africa is the ultimate for all.”

Those who watch the Nigeria vs. Togo football match live online will see if the Super Eagles can continue their historic dominance over the Hawks in Paris. The teams have met 16 times at the senior level, both competitive and friendly matches, with Nigeria winning nine games to Togo’s three. The teams have drawn four times.

This week’s match will be a chance to finalize rosters and sharpen their skill before the more important matches start later in the month.

There could be more at stake for Nigeria and boss Gernot Rohr. The team has not yet lost under the tenure of their German coach, and at the same time are creeping their way up the FIFA rankings. The team was previously ranked No. 40 in the world but now has climbed to No. 38, Vanguard noted. That ranks the Super Eagles as the fourth best team on the continent behind Cameroon, Senegal, and Egypt.

The Super Eagles roster will include forward Kelechi Iheanacho, who scored the game-tying goal against Corsica and has been training the in French capital ahead of Thursday’s match, AllAfrica reported.

The report listed the other players available for Thursday’s match.

“Goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Alampasu, defenders Elderson Echiejile, William Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, Tyronne Ebuehi and Abdullahi Shehu, midfielders Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel Agu, Oghenekaro Etebo, Alhassan Ibrahim and Uche Agbo, and strikers Ahmed Musa, Stephen Odey, Victor Osimhen, Henry Onyekuru, Alex Iwobi, Olanrewaju Kayode and Sikiru Olatubosun are the others.”

The match will also give a chance for two of Africa’s more exciting teams to show off before a European audience, with several players coming from top-flight European teams. Fulham striker Floyd Ayite will be playing in his 25th international match for Togo, Complete Sports Nigeria noted.

Ayite is coming off an excellent season, though his team was unable to make it to the Premier League.

“In the just ended season, Ayite played 38 matches in all competitions, scoring nine goals for his team that failed to gain promotion to the Premier League in the play-offs campaign,” the report noted. “He was in action in 2,126 minutes for his club in the Championship.”
