Collider shared the Season 4 synopsis for the television series, which is based on a trilogy written by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan.
"As the fourth and final season begins, nine months have passed. The world has fallen into darkness, and the strigoi are in control. The explosion at the end of Season 3 triggered a global nuclear apocalypse. The resulting nuclear winter liberated the strigoi, allowing them to move about during daytime, and allowing the Master to establish a totalitarian regime. Preying on the fears of the populace, the Master and his minions have created an unsettling alliance in 'The Partnership.' The majority of humans are now working for the strigoi, operating with a single understanding — collaborate or die. With the world in disarray and our heroes disbanded, each of them will have to overcome personal hardship and defy death for even the smallest chance at fighting back… All the while, the Master reigns supreme, furthering his scheme for the end of the world as we know it. In the face of annihilation…do our heroes have what it takes to save humankind?"During the Season 3 finale of The Strain, there was a huge explosion that not only affected New York City, but the entire world. It caused a global nuclear apocalypse and for past nine months, the world has sat in darkness. Despite losing the battle, can humankind still manage to win or is all hope lost? Based on the trailer, promo, and teaser clips that have been released, things don't look good. The official FX trailer for The Strain Season 4 is titled "The End." It is teased that "the human animal is the most dangerous" of all the creatures in the world. At the end of the trailer, it show that Setrakian (David Bradley) seems to have turned. However, would they really put that big of a spoiler in the trailer? Many fans believe that it is a dream, but only time will tell if it really happens or not.
In a teaser clip posted on YouTube by the network, "The Partnership" is teased. An announcement over a loudspeaker claims that it will benefit every living creature on Earth. The announcer says there will be no more violence and crime will cease to exist. One teaser clip even had a public service announcement that made it seem like "The Partnership" is a great thing for the future.
The Strain Season 4 will also bring a child, half-human and half-strigoi into the show.
One other issue that The Strain Season 4 teaser clips reveal is that the yellowish skies allow the strigoi to walk the streets. In fact, there are so many of them that the streets are basically swarming with them. This will make surviving and dealing with the vampire threat even more dangerous.
What do you think of the trailer, promo, and teaser clips that were released by the FX network? What do you think will happen when The Strain returns with Season 4 on July 16? Is there any chance for the heroes to save humankind or will The Master rule the world? Will the television show end like the books, or will fans be treated a different kind of conclusion?
