Gary Shirley Talks ‘Parenting Decisions’ On Twitter Amid Amber Portwood Sex Tape Rumors
Gary Shirley has not yet responded to the news of Amber Portwood’s potential plans to release a sex tape with Vivid Entertainment. However, he has shared a couple of cryptic messages to his fans and followers on Twitter.
After Portwood and Baier had confirmed their meeting with the porn distributor earlier this month, Gary Shirley took to Twitter with a couple of posts that several fans assumed were in reference to the shocking news regarding the mother of his child.
“Fml…..fml…. f**k,” read a message shared by Gary Shirley on May 26.
After Gary Shirley’s message was shared, many of his fans weighed in on the post and encouraged the longtime reality dad to save his daughter. Others questioned Amber Portwood’s sobriety. As Teen Mom OG fans will recall, Portwood struggled with drug abuse years ago, and after failing to complete a court-ordered drug rehabilitation program in 2012, she was forced to serve time behind bars.
Prior to entering prison, Portwood signed her custody rights to daughter Leah over to Leah’s father, Gary Shirley. After her release, Portwood began spending time with her daughter again, but Gary Shirley has maintained full custody of the eight-year-old.
As fans’ comments continued to flood in, many suggested that Gary Shirley should ask the court to stop allowing his daughter to spend time with her mother.
“Please protect Leah. I have no sympathy left for Amber,” one woman advised.

Moments after Gary Shirley’s first post was shared, the Teen Mom OG star returned to Twitter with a second post, which read, “Parenting decisions are the hardest. [Please] remember anything I do for my kids is always out of love [and] keeping them safe.”
Right away, a couple of fans wondered if Gary Shirley’s post was in reference to a possible return to court.
“I hope this means you are taking her a** back to court to suspend visitation until she gets rid of Matt [and] has mandatory drug screenings,” one person wrote.
Another added, “I hope this is referring to taking Amber back to court. She needs to be drug tested [and] kept away from Leah until she kicks out that monster.”
Others were far harsher and suggested Portwood may be using drugs.
“I’m so glad Leah has a real mom, Kristina in her life. Not this drug addicted wanna be porn star,” one person wrote. “Leah does not need that drama in her life.”
Gary Shirley didn’t elaborate on any of his posts, and for now, he appears to be following a visitation schedule for Leah.

In August of last year, Amber Portwood opened up about her custody arrangement with Gary Shirley.
“Me and [Gary Shirley] sat on his front porch and talked about everything,” Portwood told People magazine. “[We were] like ‘Okay, what should we do?’ And we made the decision that he would take primary custody, simply because we didn’t want to take her out of her school. She’s going to a really great school and she’s in an advanced class and I don’t want to take that away from her.”
“What we did was we did joint custody where it’s open communication,” she added. “It actually says in the contract that it’s open communication to see [Leah] during the school year. I can call everyday and go pick her up from school if I wanted to.”
