After a messy public split from Calvin Harris and a highly-publicized romance with Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift is not falling into the same trap with her relationship with Joe Alwyn.

While Taylor Swift is keeping her romance with British actor Joe Alwyn under wraps, a source close to the “Shake It Off” singer is pulling the curtain back a bit more on the low-key relationship between the two.

Taylor Swift took the mediasphere by storm multiple times last year due to her high-profile romances with Harris and Hiddleston, but the “Blank Space” singer is making none of those mistakes with Joe Alwyn.

While Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn reportedly started seeing each other last October – just weeks after calling it quits with Hiddleston – the source cited by People magazine explains Swift’s decision to keep her new relationship out of the public eye as “she has learned from the past.”

Saying that Taylor Swift has been “insanely private” about her romance with Joe Alwyn, the source explained that the 27-year-old singer wanted to “get to know him without any chaos,” as because there has been enough chaos in her past relationship with both Harris and Hiddleston.

If reported plans to move in together in the U.S. is any indication, things between Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are getting pretty serious and the British actor is not just another toy to heal the wounds of her past breakups.

Taylor Swift has been flying under the radar with her romance with Joe Alwyn for more than half a year, keeping her fans scratching their heads wondering if the “Bad Blood” singer is dating anyone in 2017 or not.

And while Taylor Swift still seems determined to keep her romance with Joe Alwyn under the radar, new details emerge about the notoriously private couple. Earlier in May, it was reported that Swift even disguised herself by wearing wigs when seeing her new beau in his hometown London.

In fact, Taylor Swift has even been reportedly renting a house in North London to be able to spend more time with Joe Alwyn to get to know him better. And while there are reports that the two are becoming a “real deal” now, there are also reports that Alwyn wants to move to the U.S. to be closer to Swift.

Besides spending more time with Taylor Swift, living in the U.S. would also help the British actor land more roles. Last year, Joe Alwyn – best known for roles in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk and Sense of an Ending – was named Hollywood’s Next Big Thing by the Hollywood Reporter.

Another source close to Joe Alwyn described the young British actor as a “very normal, down-to-earth guy,” adding that he’s “private and low-key,” though the media has already learned it from his extremely secret romance with Taylor Swift.

The source cited by People magazine also added that even though their relationship is coming under increased scrutiny now, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn are nonetheless adamant to “handle the attention.”
