‘Dancing With The Stars’ Winner Rashad Jennings Posts Sweet Message To Emma Slater
Dancing With The Stars crowned its Season 24 winner on Tuesday night. Footballer Rashad Jennings and dance pro Emma Slater took home the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy after an incredible season filled with emotion, growth, and a lot of fun.
Over the course of the past several weeks, Jennings and Slater became very close, which tends to happen with most partners on the show. However, the connection between these two seemed extra special. After two nights of exceptional dancing and great chemistry, Jennings and Slater found out that they won the ultimate prize. Jennings, who previously said that he actually hadn’t won anything in his career, took home a win.
The Dancing With The Stars champions took to social media after winning to post very sweet messages to one another. In those messages, it is clear to see just how special their bond is.
“I would never have dreamed I would be a star on @DancingABC much less win the Mirror Ball! @TheEmmaSlater I am SO your biggest fan! Proud to witness you win and to be your partner in it all!!!! #TeamShadSquad #DWTS,” Jennings wrote on Instagram after the show.
Slater was so excited to win her very first Mirror Ball Trophy on the show after joining as a pro in 2013. She posted the following message on Instagram, expressing her happiness, gratitude, and the pure love that she has for her partner.
“OMG!! I can’t believe this happened tonight!!! This is incredible, thank to every single person who voted for @rashadjennings & I. Wow this couldn’t be a more perfect way to top of the most unbelievable season we’ve had. Rashad, you know already what I think of you. Words fail me, but seeing you win this season and achieve something you thought you couldn’t do has been the biggest joy of all for me. Seeing you so happy is more to me than winning anything for myself???????? I adore you. Congratulations partner! We did it,” Slater wrote.
The two were super emotional during Tuesday night’s finale and seemed to just have a feeling that something amazing was going to come out of Season 24. When co-host Tom Bergeron announced that Normani Kordei and Val Chmerkovskiy were in third place, Slater could hardly contain her emotions. She turned to face her partner and the two embraced. Slater had tears in her eyes and the emotions didn’t stop. When Bergeron announced that Jennings and Slater won, Jennings scooped up his partner and the two celebrated with a huge hug and the biggest smiles ever.
The competition was very tight with all three of the finalists putting forth their best work this week. Many fans seemed to think that Val and Normani were going to win, but fans came out in full force to support Team Shad Squad this week. Runners up, former baseball catcher David Ross and his dance pro partner Lindsay Arnold, were very proud of how they finished out the season and were very happy for Emma and Rashad. All in all, it was a great season filled with a lot of laughs and a lot of tears.
It was clear very early on that Rashad and Emma would be around for the long haul, but few people predicted them winning it all.
