Brooke Burke Surgery: DWTS Host Preparing To Undergo Thyroid Cancer Operation

Brooke Burke-Charvet revealed in a video on her blog last month that she is suffering from thyroid cancer. Now, the Dancing With the Stars co-host is getting ready to undergo surgery as soon as next week, and she’s keeping a positive outlook going forward.

“I’m getting ready this week for my surgery and am planning on a speedy recovery,” Brooke wrote to her fans on her Facebook page on Monday.

A big part of Brooke’s positive outlook going into her surgery undoubtedly comes from her fans, who have been showering the 41-year-old mother of four with well-wishes and words of encouragement on Facebook and Twitter.

“I am touched and appreciative to all of you for sharing your positive wishes for my surgery, and for sharing many of your personal thyroid experiences,” Brooke said in the post on Facebook. “I really do read your comments and they all mean a lot to me. I’m getting ready this week for my surgery and am planning on a speedy recovery.”

Burke made the announcement that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last month in a video blog posted on the Modern Momwebsite. Burke promised that she’ll be sharing the experience — how she and her family dealt with the news — in a post on the Modern Mom website soon.

“I’ll be posting some new blogs on ModernMom.com about how I’ve been dealing with it all and how my family has been handling it too,” Burke said. What a crazy time, but I am surrounded with love and support and that really makes a world of difference.”
