Coldplay’s Chris Martin Wants To Pimp Out His Bassist

Chris Martin has revealed plans to auction off Coldplay’s bassist Guy Berryman so that he can make £1 million for charity.

Three original pieces of artwork, each of which were created by the British artist Paris and were featured on the band’s latest album, Mylo Xyloto, were sold in aid of Kid Company earlier this week.

But now Martin has said the band’s easiest way to make a million pounds for the organization would be to pimp out Berryman. “A date with our bass player would be worth a million or more, specifically a night with our bass player,” the singer told The Sun.

“You know the film Indecent Proposal?” Added Martin. “For next year’s fundraiser we’re thinking of something like that.”

Martin has long been an advocate of Berryman’s facial features. He’s previously stated, “My entire life is spent trying to push him forward at photo shoots. He’s our packaging, he’s a handsome bastard. None of us pretend that if he wasn’t in the band we’d be as popular. He’s responsible for all our calendar sales.”

Coldplay recently announced that they would be taking a break from performing for the foreseeable future. Last month, Martin told the crowd at the last show of their tour in Brisbane, Australia, “This is the last big show for three years or so. I don’t want to stop.”

However, it has now been revealed that the group are already writing material for their sixth album and that their next record title will be more pronounceable. Are you glad Coldplay is back in the studio?
