Jill Duggar Back In America As ‘Counting On’ Sisters File Charges Over Josh’s Molestation Scandal

Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard are now back in the United States from their mission trip to Central America. Their arrival is nothing but timely, as the Duggar family is currently facing another controversy. It has just been reported that the Duggar sisters are suing Arkansas officials and In Touch magazine for releasing documents regarding their brother Josh’s molestation scandal two years ago.

TMZ broke the news on Wednesday that Counting On sisters Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna Duggar have pressed charges against Springdale, Arkansas and its police officials for releasing details of Josh’s molestation case in 2015. The Duggar siblings are also suing In Touch for publishing stories about the said investigation.

The Duggar sisters claim that under Arkansas laws, authorities are not allowed to disclose any information regarding sexual cases that include minors. While Jill, Jessa, Jinger, and Joy-Anna are asking for an undisclosed amount for damages, they stated that “they’re only suing to protect all children who are victims of abuse.”

Has Jill returned to support her sisters in their new lawsuit? Jill and Derick Dillard have previously expressed in their blog that they wanted to go back to the United States. However, they made no further announcements and surprised their followers with their return by posting a simple photo on Instagram.

“Officially made it back to the good ‘ol US of A!” Derick posted. The blurry snap shows Derick, a very pregnant Jill, and their two-year-old son Israel.

While it can be said that Jill returned to the U.S. to face their new legal battle, there are also other possible reasons for her timely arrival. The 26-year-old reality star is now in her third trimester of pregnancy, and she has always said that she will be giving birth in the country.

In the Dillard Family Blog, Jill and Derrick have continually asked for financial help from their supporters so they could fly back home and prepare for the birth of their second son this July.

Please continue to pray with us for continued financial support as we still need to raise additional support for the rest of our time here on the field as well as the time we will be home surrounding the birth of our second little boy due in early July. Thank you to those of you who are supporting us already!

Jill’s return also got fans wondering if she’s back for her sister Joy-Anna’s wedding. Joy Duggar and fiance Austin Forsyth are believed to be getting married in October this year, but a family insider recently revealed that the wedding will be by the end of May!

Joy and Austin initially listed October 28 as their wedding date in their online wedding registry. However, fans noted that this may just be a decoy date to distract the press from following them on their special day.

According to the Facebook account Duggar Family News: Life is not all pickles and hairspray, Joy’s wedding will actually be next Saturday, May 27.

“It seems like the wedding will be held close to the Duggar compound since the source said guests will be at the compound before and after the wedding. That’s all I know right now except I hope Joy gets up the nerve to run before then and live the life God gave her not the one arranged for her by her fruitcake dad.”

Fans who are in on the latest Duggar news commented on Jill’s arrival photo that they are happy to see the family complete for Joy’s wedding day. Meanwhile, neither the Duggar family nor TLC has made an official announcement regarding Joy’s real wedding date and the Counting On sisters’ latest lawsuit.

Counting On Season 3 is slated to premiere on June 12 on TLC. Joy and Austin’s engagement can be seen in the show’s official teaser.
