Is Jenelle Evans Getting A ‘Teen Mom 2’ Spinoff?
Jenelle Evans and her co-stars, including Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Leah Messer, are believed to be in production on the eighth season of Teen Mom 2 but could the mother of three also be headed for a show of her own?
On May 17, after a fan asked Jenelle Evans when she would be getting her own show, she suggested it could happen.
“Maybeeeeeee,” Jenelle Evans wrote, along with a winking emoji.
Jenelle Evans then quoted a tweet from a fan, which read, “Omg this is a must have The Jenelle Show!!!”
Jenelle Evans has been featured on MTV since 2011 when she appeared on the second season of 16 & Pregnant. As fans will recall, Evans’ episode followed her as she prepared to welcome her first child, son Jace. In the years that followed, Jenelle Evans continued her reality television career on Teen Mom 2 as she expanded her family with sons Kaiser, whose father is Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley, whose dad is Evans’ current fiancé, David Eason.
Throughout her reality television career, Jenelle Evans has been known for having what may be the most dramatic storyline of all the Teen Mom stars. So, when it comes to having her own show, there would surely be no shortage of footage. That said, nothing has been confirmed in regard to a possible Teen Mom 2 spinoff.
Jenelle Evans isn’t the first Teen Mom 2 star to spark rumors of a spinoff. In fact, her longtime co-stars and frequent nemesis, Kailyn Lowry, spoke of her own potential series on Twitter earlier this month.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Lowry got the attention of fans on May 11 when she responded to a fan who said they didn’t see why she didn’t have her own show.
“It’s in the works baby!” she wrote.
Unfortunately, several fans quickly weighed in on Lowry’s tweet and didn’t seem thrilled with the news of her allegedly upcoming series.
“Can I see the receipts? Because you’re the most unlikable person ever. So good luck carrying a show on your own,” one person wrote.
“If she has her own show then it will be a waste of time, joke. I just see her more of a woman who needs therapy to work on herself first,” another added.
Others pointed out that Lowry often refuses to talk about her life on Teen Mom 2, so a spinoff show all about her seemed to be a strange idea.
As for the reaction to Jenelle Evans’ possible show, fans seemed much more on board.
“You should totaly get your own show!!!” someone said.
“I’d watch the s**t out of it lol. Favorite of all the shows,” wrote another.
Although Jenelle Evans didn’t share any details about what her possible Teen Mom 2 spinoff would be about, she’s currently planning her wedding to David Eason and could likely provide MTV with tons of exciting footage.
Evans and Eason got engaged earlier this year after welcoming their first child together, daughter Ensley, in January.
Jenelle Evans is also in the midst of a custody battle with her mother, Barbara, over her oldest son, Jace. As fans have seen on Teen Mom 2, Evans has filed for custody of the boy but because Barbara has been raising him for nearly his entire life, she’s hesitant to sign over rights. She’s also concerned about doing what is in Jace’s best interest and she’s unsure if being with Evans full-time is the right thing.
No word yet on when Jenelle Evans and the cast of Teen Mom 2 will return to MTV for Season 8.
