Fifty Shades Darker movie lovers would really want Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan to reunite for a new film after the release of Fifty Shades Freed.
During the filming of Fifty Shades trilogy, both Dakota and Jamie became very close. In fact, many media outlet went on to speculate that the two co-stars are having a secret romance. However, both the stars chose to avoid the nonsense and stayed true to their characters. Now, as the filming of Fifty Shades Freed is wrapped up, fans are really hoping that these two stars will reunite for another project.
Fifty Shades Darker was released in February, and the third part in the erotic drama series will release in February 2018. Fans of the movie, who also followed E. L. James' literary work, knows this for a fact that the author has penned another story featuring the same characters.
The fourth book in the Fifty Shades series entitled Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian, depicted the same events shown in the very first book and the subsequent movie. However, the entire story in this fourth book is narrated from Christian Grey's point of view. The book, however, was heavily criticized by book lovers and many even suggested that Erika simply shadowed the whole plot in Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian from Fifty Shades of Grey and only reproduced it by replaying Anastasia's monologs with Christian's.The movie adaptation of the original two novels did extremely well at the box office. The first part was made with a production budget of $40 million and went on to earn $571 million in total. Similar to this, Fifty Shades Darker was made with a budget of $55 million and grossed over $370 million worldwide. Despite all the negative comments, so far the film series had been very beneficial for Universal Pictures.
Based on the box-office success, fans can really hope that Universal Pictures will also adapt Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian into another erotic feature film. If this happens in the future, everyone would really appreciate if the studio will convince both Dakota and Jamie to reunite again.
That being said, Marcia Gay Harden, the 57-year-old Academy award-winning actress who portrayed Christian's mother in Fifty Shades Darker, recently told People that if Universal Pictures will turn Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian into a movie, she would love to reprise her role of Christian's mother in it.
"I'm trying to now think about, 'What would Christian's point of view be. Would mom even be in it?' She rescued him. She was a doctor, she rescued him … I don't know. Would I be in it? Yeah, sure. I'm game."A report from Celebeat suggests that Jamie is missing working with Dakota, and there are chances that they both will plan to work together in another film.
Recently, Jamie gave an insight about his take on him reprising the role of Christian in the fourth film. During his interview with The Sun, the Irish actor talked about his future films and revealed that he does not wish to play similar characters, rather he is interested in portraying different characters in different films.
"I'm actually finished with it. I've done Fifty Shades forever," he further added.
That being said, Jamie had a lot of fun while shooting the Fifty Shades trilogy, but now as the filming is completed — he would love to move from this phase of his life.
"We have a lot of fun together," he said. "Dakota's funny. We've been through this mad journey together. I'm very thankful that I've done it with someone who's easy to do it with because it could've been a very different experience had we not got on."
On the professional endeavors, Jamie is busy with the post-production of his upcoming period drama film Robin Hood. Directed by Otto Bathurst, Robin Hood will feature Jamie as Will Scarlet, half-brother of Robin Hood and Marian's husband. The film will also feature Taron Egerton, Jamie Foxx, Eve Hewson, and Ben Mendelsohn in the pivot roles.Meanwhile, Dakota will be seen in Luca Guadagnino's upcoming horror film Suspiria. The film is the official remake of the 1977 Italian film of the same name. The story follows Susie Bannion (Dakota), an American ballet student who transfers to a prestigious dance academy in Germany. But she soon realizes that the academy is a front for something far more sinister and supernatural amidst a series of murders. Apart from Dakota, the upcoming film will also feature Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, Tilda Swinton, and Sylvie Testud in the lead roles.
