Johnny Lewis Had No Drugs In System At Time Of Death, Autopsy Shows

Former Sons of Anarchy actor Johnny Lewis had no drugs in his system when he killed his landlady and fell to his death in September, according to an autopsy report.

Authorities had been interested to see if drugs played a role in Lewis’ bizarre death after he apparently murdered Catherine Davis and then accidentally fell to his death in her driveway, reports The Associated Press.

Johnny Lewis was released from jail on probation before the killing and had a string of drug-related arrests. His attorney believed that the former Sons of Anarchy actor may have been in a drug-induced psychosis during the bizarre killing and jumping death, but the lack of drugs found in his system discounts the theory.

Lewis’ toxicology results showed no evidence of cocaine, alcohol, marijuana, or any other drug in his system. Officials even checked for anti-psychotic and psychedelic drugs, but found nothing.

The autopsy report ruled the actor’s death an accident, because there is no evidence that he attempted to kill himself or that he had been pushed. Lewis had nail marks on both sides of his neck, according to the autopsy, and he had suffered partial strangulation, according to TMZ.

Police believe that, after killing Davis, Johnny Lewis tried to flee the home, but was killed in the process. Earlier this year probation officers expressed concern over the former Sons of Anarchy actor’s mental health.

A probation officer who evaluated his case after he attempted to break into a woman’s home stated he was “very concerned over the well-being of not only the community but that of the defendant.” Johnny Lewis’ attorney also stated after his death that he recommended treatment for the actor, who declined it.
