Lindsay Lohan Says Samantha Ronson Relationship Was ‘Toxic’

Oft-troubled actress Lindsay Lohan is chalking her 2009 split from DJ Samantha Ronson up to the “toxic” lifestyle the two shared during their hard-partying romance together.

Lohan shocked her fans when she shacked up with Ronson in 2008, causing rampant media interest and speculation, even if the two barely spoke publicly about their romance. The duo graced headlines several times with reported blow-ups and contentious fighting, with Lohan dismissing the relationship now as part of a “toxic” lifestyle that she led at the time.

She told Us Weekly about the relationship that she wasn’t mature enough to know what true love is, saying, “I need to love myself first before I could be with anyone else, and I was going through a lot. Two toxic people cannot be together. End of story.”

Though Lohan admits she was heartbroken after breaking up with Ronson, the 26-year-old Liz Dick star said that the two remain on good terms, and have become friends.

“We’re friends now. That’s how it started so I think that’s how it was meant to be… I was bold enough to say, ‘Yeah, I like a girl. And?’ That put her in a situation where she was being attacked every day. That’s not fair.

“And what am I left with? Heartbreak. That was three years ago. It was my last serious relationship.”

Lindsay Lohan has been romantically linked to Aaron Carter and Wilmer Valderrama in the past, and many more rumored celebrity hook-ups.
